Kash Patel Reveals Kirk’s Assassin Wrote Note, Tied to Scene by DNA

The suspect accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk allegedly wrote a note before the killing.

FBI Director Kash Patel said forensic evidence confirms the contents of the destroyed message.

The Note

The note revealed Tyler Robinson, 22, planned to assassinate Charlie Kirk.

Patel appeared Monday on Fox and Friends to summarize the findings.

“The suspect wrote a note saying, ‘I have the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I’m going to take it,’” Patel said.

He confirmed the note was written before the Utah shooting.

The note itself was destroyed but later reconstructed.

Patel said the FBI recovered forensic proof of its existence.

Aggressive FBI interviews helped confirm the note’s contents.

Patel also announced new DNA findings.

Robinson’s DNA was located on a screwdriver at the scene.

More DNA was discovered on a towel used to wrap the rifle.

Broader Probe

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino later appeared on Fox News.

He said investigators are checking for an “extended network.”

He did not confirm outside involvement but said all options are on the table.

Bongino said the bureau is looking for aiding and abetting.

He mentioned possible financial or logistical assistance to Robinson.

He emphasized state and local partners are working with the FBI.

The Arrest

Robinson surrendered Friday after his father persuaded him to turn himself in.

His father contacted a pastor and then law enforcement to secure custody.

The arrest ended a 33-hour manhunt across Utah.

Authorities say Robinson is not cooperating with investigators.

He remains under “special watch” at a Utah jail.

Patel credited “aggressive” FBI interviews with uncovering evidence.

Gov. Spencer Cox said Robinson followed a “leftist ideology.”

Lance Twiggs

Cox believes the ideology was reinforced by Robinson’s transgender roommate.

Relatives said the roommate “hated conservatives and Christians.”

Family members told police Robinson had grown “more political.”

They said he accused Kirk of spreading “hate” on campuses.

A relative recalled a recent dinner where Robinson criticized Kirk.

Online Activity

The Washington Post reported Robinson sent a Discord confession.

“It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this,” one message read.

He later posted he was surrendering through a sheriff friend.

Robinson is expected to be formally charged Tuesday.

He will appear in court by video from his jail cell.

Prosecutors are still finalizing charges including aggravated murder.
