Joe Biden was set to give a speech about gun control at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday following Hunter Biden’s conviction for federal gun offenses.
Jurors on Tuesday returned a verdict in Hunter Biden’s criminal gun trial after three hours of deliberations.
He was found guilty of all three felonies, Hunter Biden is facing 25 years in prison.
Joe Biden was supposed to speak at Everytown’s Gun Sense University at the Washington Hilton, but attendees were left waiting with an empty lectern one hour after the scheduled start time.

Biden’s schedule abruptly shifted, prompting him to rush back to Wilmington, Delaware, to be with his son Hunter.
Joe Biden will depart from his gun control speech and head directly to Delaware instead of returning to the White House. He is scheduled to leave the White House early Wednesday morning to travel to Italy for the G7 Summit.
