Jen Psaki is currently under scrutiny following the assault of a conservative journalist during an anti-ICE protest in Minneapolis, with many accusing the former White House press secretary of remaining silent on the matter.
The journalist, Savannah Hernandez, a contributor to Turning Point USA, reported that she was assaulted outside the Whipple ICE facility while filming. She described the incident, stating, “I was just brutally assaulted by multiple people outside of the Whipple ICE facility in Minneapolis. Multiple people swung on me and a grown man pushed me to the ground.”
Video footage captured Hernandez being confronted and subsequently shoved to the ground by a protester. She claims her only offense was documenting the public demonstration.
“All of this because I was standing outside on a public street filming a protest in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” she remarked. This incident has led to a criminal investigation by the FBI, which Hernandez’s supporters claim indicates the seriousness with which federal authorities are treating the attack.
I’m waking up with a headache and stiff neck this morning due to how violently anti-ICE activist, Chris Ostroushko, shoved me down yesterday.
A second angle shows that he had to be held back by 5 men as he continued to charge at me.
I didn’t speak a word to him all day yet he… pic.twitter.com/LjDx1GMLnF

As the controversy grows, attention has turned to Psaki. Conservative voices online argue that Psaki’s past association with Chris Ostroushko, labeled “Minnesota Angry Man,” links her to the incident. Critics assert that her failure to publicly condemn the assault reflects a troubling double standard in how political violence is perceived.
“Jen Psaki loved ‘Minnesota Angry Man’ Chris Ostroushko so much, she invited him on her show to spread his message,” remarked one critic. “Yesterday, he shoved Savannah Hernandez from behind, slamming her to the ground. Psaki still hasn’t condemned the assault. Her silence is deafening.”
Opponents argue that while the left decries threats to democracy, they remain silent when a conservative journalist is targeted. This growing outcry serves to highlight the perceived inequalities in the response to political violence.

Hernandez claims another individual, William Scott Kelly, played a part in inciting the crowd against her. She noted, “This is the guy, William Scott Kelly, who incited the mob against me today. He identified me as I stood at the fence taking BROLL of the ICE facility at today’s protest.” Local authorities indicated that state charges might arise from this incident, and Hernandez shared footage of one participant identified as Paige Ostroushko being arrested shortly after the assault.
