Two Iranian drones struck a warehouse at the Al Salam Naval Base in Abu Dhabi, damaging containers at the facility that hosts French forces.
The base is also known as Camp de la Paix and operates under a bilateral agreement with the UAE.
The UAE Ministry of Defense said specialized teams extinguished fires in two containers holding general materials and reported no Emirati or French casualties.
The UAE described the event as an attack by two Iranian drones, likely Shahed-model kamikaze drones, and footage showed smoke at the impact site.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed responsibility and indicated the French base was a deliberate target.
French Defense Minister Vautrin confirmed a hangar at the French naval facility adjacent to the Emirati site was damaged and described the damage as limited and material only.
