In this video, hundreds of civilians gathered outside the facility in response to a government official’s request for them to serve as human shields at strategic sites. This action coincides with Trump intensifying pressure on Tehran.
The president has explicitly warned Iranian leaders that if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened to all shipping by 8 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday, he would authorize strikes against the nation’s power plants and bridges.
The Kazerun facility is a natural gas-fired power plant situated in Iran’s southwestern Fars province, close to the Persian Gulf, as noted by several CBS sources.
