Iran has explicitly dismissed a ceasefire proposal from the United States, with state media reporting that the fighting will not cease as Washington increases pressure for a resolution.
On Wednesday, Iranian state media declared, “Iran will not accept a ceasefire offer from the United States.” This comes against the backdrop of ongoing conflict following the U.S.-Israeli strikes that have disrupted oil markets and increased tensions throughout the Middle East.
FARS News Agency, a regime-aligned outlet, cited an informed source stating that the U.S. is escalating efforts to secure a ceasefire and initiate indirect talks.
The source asserted, “Iran does not accept a ceasefire,” emphasizing that engaging in talks with parties that violate agreements is illogical.
Further, this source indicated that Iran intends to pursue its “strategic goals” through the conflict and suggests that a resolution would only be conceivable once those objectives are met, as reported by FARS.

This latest stance from Tehran highlights its refusal to entertain U.S. diplomacy as President Donald Trump seeks a strategic resolution to what he considers a lengthy conflict. Despite Trump’s indication that negotiations are underway, Iranian officials maintain there are no direct discussions.

Earlier on the same day, reports indicated that Iran has received Trump’s 15-point peace plan; however, the specifics of this plan were not shared. This development occurs as markets react to Iran’s threats surrounding the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. warnings against Tehran’s interference with global shipping.

FARS’ statements reflect the regime’s attempt to position itself as the wronged party while perpetuating regional instability. Simultaneously, the U.S. maintains that any pathway to de-escalation hinges on Iran ceasing its aggressive tactics, which have included hostage-taking and violence.
The current situation is clear: While Trump is proposing a negotiating framework and potential ceasefire, Tehran has made its intentions clear, betting on its ability to endure pressure and ultimately assert its dominance domestically.
