Identification of Victims in Florida Learjet Tragedy

A recent private jet crash in South Florida has resulted in the tragic loss of nine individuals, including a Texas tech entrepreneur, his wife, their two children, and a young pilot. The incident occurred Sunday afternoon, shocking the local community.

The Learjet 60, which was flying from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas, fell into a residential area around 1 p.m. on November 1 in Palm Beach County, igniting a fierce blaze upon impact.

Every person onboard perished, prompting a search for details about those who lost their lives as loved ones grieve. The heartbreaking nature of this incident has only deepened with the emergence of information regarding the victims.

Adam Robinson, a 44-year-old technology entrepreneur, was traveling with his wife, Helen, their two young children, a nanny, and two family friends. Sadly, the flight crew also did not survive.

The captain of the aircraft was 55-year-old Jeff Gregory, while the co-pilot was just 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras. Nathalia had already made impressive strides in aviation, having earned her pilot’s license by the age of 17.

Nathalia’s mother, Camila Corteleti, confirmed her passing, recounting the young woman’s humor during an interview in 2023, where she noted her oddity of earning wings prior to her driver’s license.

Meanwhile, federal investigators are dissecting the circumstances leading up to the crash, which included reports of hazardous weather. The crew noted ice build-up and moderate turbulence before the jet made its fateful descent.

Flight data showed a rapid loss of approximately 27,000 feet in altitude within a minute. Eyewitness videos captured the Learjet nosediving before exploding into flames.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis visited the crash site, describing the aircraft’s descent likened to a missile. The crash resulted in significant damage and scattered debris, displacing around 600 residents from the nearby mobile home community.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to individuals on the ground. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident, working alongside the FAA to understand the crash’s causes and the aircraft’s last moments.

Authorities have yet to confirm all nine victims’ identities through formal identification processes, and the investigation is still active.
