Hunter Biden Breaks Silence After Presidential Pardon

President Joe Biden’s son Hunter has promised he is going to “make amends” after his father issued him a widespread pardon of all his crimes as well as offenses he “may have committed or taken part in” since January 2014.

Hunter was convicted earlier this year on federal gun charges as well as tax evasion.

In a statement issued to news outlets, Joe Biden’s son stated:

“I have admitted and taken responsibility for my mistakes during the darkest days of my addiction – mistakes that have been exploited to publicly humiliate and shame me and my family for political sport. Despite all of this, I have maintained my sobriety for more than five years because of my deep faith and the unwavering love and support of my family and friends.”

Hunter Biden added, per the Daily Mail, “In the throes of addiction, I squandered many opportunities and advantages. In recovery we can be given the opportunity to make amends where possible and rebuild our lives if we never take for granted the mercy that we have been afforded.”

He then promised to devote the time he has been given out of prison to “helping those who are still sick and suffering.”

The note from Hunter comes after Joe Biden’s reversal after he vowed in June not to pardon Hunter from the crimes he committed.

For months following that promise, the Biden White House repeatedly said that Hunter would not receive a pardon.

Then on Sunday evening, Biden issued a statement making the widespread pardon for Hunter, not only covering the crimes he has been convicted of, but those and any possible crime that he has committed for the nearly the last 10 years starting January 1, 2014, the same year that Hunter was hired by Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

The younger Biden’s position at the energy company has been the subject of controversy and congressional investigation into the Biden family’s alleged influence peddling abroad.
