Hunter Biden Blames Kamala Harris’s Defeat on Democrats’ Disloyalty to His Father

Hunter Biden is speaking out for the first time this year — and he’s pointing fingers squarely at disloyal Democrats for the party’s stunning collapse in the 2024 election.

In an interview on former DNC Chair Jaime Harrison’s new podcast At Our Table, the embattled former first son didn’t hold back.

“We lost the last election because we did not remain loyal to the leader of the party,” Hunter Biden said.“We had the advantage of incumbency, we had the advantage of an incredibly successful administration — and the Democratic Party literally melted down.”

“The Party Turned on Him”

The comments come nearly a year after Joe Biden’s political unraveling, which began after his widely panned debate performance against Donald Trump in June 2024. Faced with mounting pressure from within his own party and concerns about his cognitive decline, the 46th president eventually stepped aside, allowing Kamala Harris to become the nominee — only to suffer a bruising defeat in November.

“We are going to fight amongst ourselves for the next three years until there’s a nominee,” Hunter warned. “And then, we better as hell get behind that nominee.”

“I Stayed Away — It Broke My Heart”

Hunter also pushed back on claims that he was deeply involved in his father’s presidency, saying:

“I stayed as far away as I possibly could — which, by the way, broke my heart.”

The younger Biden has remained largely silent since leaving the White House spotlight, especially amid legal battles that plagued his father’s administration.

“There Was No Cover-Up”

Hunter also addressed recent claims that the Biden White House actively covered up the president’s health decline.

“What sells, Jaime? What sells is the idea of a conspiracy,” he said, dismissing allegations that aides kept Biden’s mental decline under wraps.

“The ability to keep a secret in Washington is zero.”

His comments come after the release of Original Sin by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson, which painted a devastating portrait of Biden’s final year in office — including allegations of “willful blindness” within the Democratic leadership.

A Party in Disarray

Former DNC Chair Harrison agreed with much of Hunter’s analysis, saying Democrats lacked the kind of loyalty Republicans show Trump:

“If Democrats had half the loyalty Republicans have for Donald Trump, the outcome might have been different.”

Other early guests on Harrison’s podcast include Gov. Tim Walz, Rep. James Clyburn, and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore — all Biden allies during the final stretch of his presidency.

Biden’s Final Days: Pardons, Scandals, and Silence

Hunter’s appearance also comes as the sweeping clemency issued by his father during his final days — including a full pardon for Hunter himself — continues to make headlines.

Although Joe Biden previously promised not to pardon his son, he reversed course on the way out the door.

The pardon wiped away convictions related to gun possession and $1.4 million in unpaid taxes, sparking outrage from Republicans and some legal scholars.

Biden’s Health Now Front and Center

Earlier this year, the former president revealed that his prostate cancer had metastasized to his bones, further fueling concerns about the timing and transparency of his exit from public life.

Yet Hunter Biden remains adamant that his father’s legacy — and leadership — deserved better from his own party.
