House Rep. on Biden Impeachment Probe: “Hunter Biden WILL Testify Before Congress”

Hunter Biden, the trouble son of President Joe Biden, “will” testify before Congress, according to New York Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL).

Luna posted her message on X that “Hunter Biden WILL testify before Congress.”

The Politics Brief reached out Rep. Luna for further clarification, but did not hear back by time of publication.

As reported earlier on Tuesday, Hunter Biden’s lawyer stated in a letter that Hunter Biden is prepared to testify publicly before Congress in response to a subpoena requesting that he appear as part of the House Republicans’ impeachment investigation.

The three-page letter from the younger Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, represented the latest escalation in the president’s son’s months-long feud with GOP legislators.

“Mr. Chairman, we take you up on your offer,” Lowell wrote. “Accordingly, our client will get right to it by agreeing to answer any pertinent and relevant question you or your colleagues might have, but—rather than subscribing to your cloaked, one-sided process—he will appear at a public Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing.”

“We have seen you use closed door sessions to manipulate, even distort the facts and misinform the public,” he added. “We therefore propose opening the door.”

In addition, Hunter Biden’s one-time business partner Eric Schwerin will testify before Congress in closed-door testimony on December 19th.

House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) on Tuesday said the younger Biden was “trying to play by his own rules instead of following the rules required of everyone else” in seeking a public hearing.

“That won’t stand with House Republicans. Our lawfully issued subpoena to Hunter Biden requires him to appear for a deposition on December 13,” Comer said. “We expect full cooperation with our subpoena for a deposition but also agree that Hunter Biden should have the opportunity to testify in a public setting at a future date.”

The more aggressive approach aims to avoid a closed-door meeting in which Republican committee members might cherry-pick aspects of Hunter Biden’s testimony, but it also portends a more public phase of his travails, which many in the White House fear.

A public hearing before the House Oversight Committee might pose fresh political dangers to the White House, putting Hunter Biden’s financial transactions in the spotlight as his father runs for re-election.

Hunter Biden’s business ties to his father Joe Biden’s administrations are being further established, as his ‘shady’ associates have been found to have visited the White House on numerous occasions.

Meanwhile, Joe Biden currently has approximately $5.2 million in income that he did not report on government transparency filings, the Daily Mail found in an analysis.

Hunter Biden’s longtime business associate Eric Schwerin, the president of now-dissolved investment fund Rosemont Seneca Partners, was found to have visited the White House at least 27 times during the Obama-Biden administration.

In a text conversation between Hunter Biden and his daughter Naomi, who is the president’s granddaughter, from December 26, 2018 he also boasted about “pay[ing] for everything for this entire family Fro [sic] 30 years.”

“It’s really hard,” the Hunter Biden text adds. “But don’t worry unlike Pop I won’t make you give me half your salary.”

Perhaps most damning of all, Joe Biden paid nearly $2.75 million CASH for a home in Rehoboth Beach within weeks of Hunter sending a ‘threatening’ text message to a Chinese business associate demanding a $10 million transaction.

The Hunter Biden issue has had an effect: According to a recent AP-NORC survey, 68% of people feel Joe Biden acted unethically or criminally in his son’s business transactions.
