The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee on Monday released a new tranche of records from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, including a so-called “birthday book” that contains an alleged note attributed to President Donald Trump — a note the White House insists is fake.
The document release came hours after lawyers for Epstein’s estate turned over materials under a congressional subpoena issued by Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.).
Alleged Trump Entry
The “birthday book” was compiled by Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell for the financier’s 50th birthday in 2003.
Among its entries is a page bearing Trump’s name, featuring an outline of a naked woman’s body and the phrase: “We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.”

The note ends: “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
The Wall Street Journal first reported on the alleged entry in July.
White House Response
Press secretary Karoline Leavitt strongly denied Trump had any role in the book.
“The president did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it,” Leavitt said in a statement.

Trump has already filed a defamation lawsuit against the Journal and its parent company, calling the entry “a fake thing.”
Democrats Seize on Document
Democrats on the Oversight panel posted an image of the note on X Monday.
“Trump talks about a ‘wonderful secret’ the two of them shared. What is he hiding? Release the files!” the Oversight Democrats account wrote.
Ranking Member Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) said the note contradicts Trump’s claims.
“President Trump called the Epstein investigation a hoax and claimed that his birthday note didn’t exist. Now we know he was lying,” Garcia said.
Comer Defends Trump
Comer accused Democrats of cherry-picking the files for political gain.
“It’s appalling Democrats on the Oversight Committee are politicizing information received from the Epstein estate,” Comer said.
“President Trump is not accused of any wrongdoing. Our focus is on transparency and accountability for survivors.”
Other Entries in Book
The book also contains entries from former President Bill Clinton and attorney Alan Dershowitz.
Clinton’s note praised Epstein’s “childlike curiosity” and “drive to make a difference.”
An entry attributed to businessman Joel Pashcow included a mocked-up photo of a $22,500 check appearing to come from Trump, alongside a crude joke about women.

Besides the birthday book, the Oversight Committee released Epstein’s 2019 last will and testament, his 2007–2008 non-prosecution agreement in Florida, and decades of contact records.
Lawyers for Epstein’s estate said they redacted names and images of women and minors, as well as nudity, but that unredacted copies would be available to Congress.
Epstein died in 2019 in a Manhattan jail while awaiting federal sex trafficking charges.
Next Steps
Comer said the committee would pursue Epstein’s bank records to trace his financial dealings.
