U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) told a British journalist that he would “kill” independent conservative journalist Tucker Carlson in a hot mic moment.
After wrapping up an interview with GB News, Crenshaw referred to Carlson as the “worst person” and said they have never met face-to-face. “If I ever meet him, I’ll fucking kill him,” said Crenshaw, a former Navy SEAL who represents a Congressional district in the Houston area.
In the interview, Crenshaw criticized Carlson’s opposition to continued U.S. funding of the war in Ukraine, a frequent point of conflict between the two.
“Just coming back to this $100 billion to Ukraine, I know that people like Tucker Carlson would make the argument that there’s a real opportunity cost there. You know, we could have spent that money on the border or fixing, you know, issues in America. What do you make of that argument that all this money could have been spent to help Americans and not Ukrainians?” the congressman was asked.
“You can walk and chew bubblegum at the same time,” Crenshaw replied. “You know, we spend 75, 80 percent of our budget on a welfare state in America, on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. I would love to ask Tucker what he thinks that $100 billion should be spent on and if he would vote for it as a conservative. Tucker doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Tucker likes to visit Moscow and talk about how great the grocery stores are. So I don’t really take his advice very seriously.”

The clip generated outrage on social media, with U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) calling out her colleague for what seemed to be a violent threat.
Crenshaw attempted to dismiss the question from MTG, saying “lol, no” when asked whether he threatened to kill Carlson. His post was then slapped with a community note that linked to the clip of him saying exactly that.
Carlson himself also responded to Crenshaw’s statements by inviting him to sit for an interview. “Why don’t you come sit for an interview and we’ll see how you do? I’ll send you my address,” the former Fox News host posted on X.
The two men have long been critics of each other and have traded barbs in interviews and on social media on numerous occasions. In response to Carlson’s interview with a Palestinian Christian leader, Crenshaw slammed the pundit as an “elitist piece of s**t” and “a cowardly, know-nothing elitist” among other insults.
Carlson is no stranger to firing back, as he at one point referred to Crenshaw as one of “the dumbest” members of Congress.
