The Hollywood agent who recently severed ties with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin for criticizing Israel’s response to the Gaza attacks as “genocide” had financially supported various prominent Democrats, including Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign.
Maha Dakhil, a top agent at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and co-leader of the Motion Pictures division, representing celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Anne Hathaway, and Madonna, stirred up a heated debate when she shared two anti-Israel messages on one of her social media accounts.
Following Israel’s Gaza strikes, Dakhil took to Instagram and reposted a message that accused Israel of committing genocide.
“You’re currently learning who supports genocide,” the reposted message read. “That’s the line for me,” she added in the caption.
Dakhil later shared a second photo on the social media platform with the caption, “What’s more heartbreaking than witnessing genocide? Witnessing the denial that genocide is happening.”
Dakhil’s actions sparked backlash, prompting Sorkin to sever ties with her and make a move to a different talent agency.
“Maha isn’t an antisemite, she’s just wrong,” Sorkin told The Hollywood Reporter.
“She’s a great agent and I’m very proud of the work we did together over the last six years. I’m excited to be returning to WME,” she added.
Dakhil, like most others in Hollywood, has been a consistent supporter of Democrats, as revealed by campaign finance records, contributing thousands of dollars to their campaigns.
According to the records, one of the recipients of her financial support is Vice President Harris. Back in 2019, Dakhil made a $2,800 donation to Harris’ disastrous presidential campaign.
Dakhil has also donated thousands of dollars to Democrat Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Cory Booker of New Jersey.
During the 2016 elections, she donated $2,000 to Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign.
Subsequently, Dakhil removed her anti-Israel posts, resigned from the CAA’s internal agency board, and took a temporary pause from her regular duties.
“I made a mistake with a repost in my Instagram story, which used hurtful language,” she told Variety.
“Like so many of us, I have been reeling with heartbreak. I pride myself on being on the side of humanity and peace. I’m so grateful to Jewish friends and colleagues who pointed out the implications and further educated me. I immediately took the repost down. I’m sorry for the pain I have caused,” she later added.

Far as I know, it’s still a ‘free’ country – you can choose to be a traitor and against the betterment of this country, or not. In other words, who gives a rat’s butt what some unknown ‘thinks’ or does?
