Greg Abbott Receives Support After He Puts Joe Biden on Notice With Statement on ‘Texas’ Constitutional Right to Self-Defense’

Texas GOP Governor Greg Abbott put Joe Biden on notice Wednesday after he issued a statement on “Texas’ Constitutional right to self-defense.”

Abbott declared in the statement, which focused on the flow of illegal immigration, that “The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States.”

Additionally, Abbott noted that he has attempted to reach out to Biden to get the situation under control, but he has refused to help.

Abbott stated that he had therefore declared an invasion to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself.

On Monday, the Supreme Court appeared to have dealt Abbott a blow as it ruled in a 5-4 decision that the federal government can remove razor wire erected on the southern border by Texas law enforcement.

In response to the statement, others issued statements of support for Abbott’s decisions, including X CEO Elon Musk.

Musk told Abbott in response, “Texas is absolutely right. This administration is deliberately breaking the law by aiding and abetting illegal immigration at an unprecedented scale!”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) vowed to back Abbott up as he declared in a quote post, “I stand with Governor Abbott.”

“The House will do everything in its power to back him up. The next step: holding Secretary Mayorkas accountable,” Johnson insisted.

Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin even issued a statement on X supporting Abbott as he announced that “Virginia stands with Texas.”

@GregAbbott_TX is doing the job Joe Biden and his border czar refuse to do to secure our border. The Biden administration has turned every state into a border state,” Youngkin pointed out.

Youngkin concluded, “We must stop the flow of fentanyl, save lives, and secure our southern border.”

I’m a citizen of California, but I’m in complete agreement with Governor Abbott and the people of Texas.

It’s good to see public leaders who are willing to make a stand, and I admire this man’s bravery and courage.
