ABC’s George Stephanopoulos is back in the headlines — not for delivering news, but for spreading political misinformation in the wake of one of the deadliest disasters in Texas history.
Over the Fourth of July weekend, at least 100 people — including 14 children at a Christian girls’ summer camp — were killed by devastating flash floods along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County, Texas.
But instead of reporting facts or honoring the victims, Stephanopoulos used his Sunday show to politicize the tragedy, claiming the Trump administration’s funding decisions were to blame.
“We’re also learning there were significant staffing shortfalls to the National Weather Services offices in the region,” he said on ABC.
BREAKING – Months after settling a $16 million suit with President Trump, George Stephanopoulos is again spreading lies as he blames Trump for the Kerr County flash flood while citing staffing shortfalls at the NWS.pic.twitter.com/1NtW6p1A2x

Fact Check: No Shortfalls — Extra Staff Were on Duty
Stephanopoulos’ claim was flat-out false.
There were no staffing shortfalls at the National Weather Service (NWS) during the flood. In fact, reports confirm there were extra personnel on duty to monitor and respond to the severe weather conditions.
“Easily debunked,” one user posted, showing the NWS was fully staffed.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson also weighed in:“This is absolute fake news and even Wired knows it.”
She linked to an article confirming that President Trump’s administration had no role in causing the flood — nor were any disaster-prep agencies under-resourced.
Trump Declares Major Disaster, 850+ Lives Saved
While ABC News was pointing fingers, President Trump was taking action.
-
Trump signed a Major Disaster Declaration for Kerr County, unlocking federal relief funds for families and emergency response.
-
The U.S. Coast Guard and Texas first responders have saved over 850 lives so far.
-
Trump’s FEMA team has been on the ground assisting local officials with recovery and rescue operations.
In the middle of a national crisis, Trump stepped up — and Stephanopoulos launched another partisan smear campaign.
The Same Stephanopoulos Who Just Lost $16 Million to Trump
Let’s not forget: George Stephanopoulos just lost a $16 million defamation lawsuit to Trump for spreading false claims on-air.
And now, with bodies still being pulled from floodwaters, he’s back at it again — trying to frame Trump as the villain in a natural disaster.
The DEMON RATS are the most ABJECT SCUM of the earth. They have no shame, no conscience, no Common Sense. They lie with their opinions without any facts.
