An agent inside the Federal Bureau of Investigation was tipping off members of a brutal Venezuelan gang so they could escape capture by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement, White House border czar Tom Homan revealed on Monday.
Speaking with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Homan said he and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have very likely identified the culprit, who will not only lose their job, but likely their pension as well. In addition, they may face jail time for obstructing a federal investigation.
“We think it’s coming from inside” the FBI, Homan said about recent leaks to members of Tren de Aragua in Aurora, Colorado and Los Angeles, California, where they have been terrorizing local residents.
“We know the first leak in Aurora is under current investigation. We think we’ve identified that person under investigation. Right now, the California leak, Secretary Noem, she’s correct – some of the information we’re receiving tends to lead toward the FBI,” he said.
Further discussions with Deputy U.S. Attorney General Emil Bove have led to the launch of a criminal investigation, one that may further damage the Bureau’s reputation at a critical time.
Homan added: “They have promised that not only will this person lose their job and lose their pension, they’re going to go to jail. They will criminally prosecute.”

Noem has blasted “deep state agents” within the FBI for disrupting raids on the deadly Venezuelan gang. On Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported that a “large scale” raid was coming to the city by the end of the month, citing an internal government document.
“The FBI is so corrupt,” she wrote on X. “We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law.”
Appearing on Fox, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi promised to find and prosecute those responsible for leaking details about the raid to the newspaper.
“It’s not going to stop our mission,” Bondi said. “It’s not going to stop the president’s mission to make America safe again.”
“We’ve already identified how this operation got leaked,” Homan told Fox News on Thursday. “I’ll deal with that today.”
“When we show up at these sites, this is a dangerous job for the men and women of ICE and Border Patrol and all the [Department of Justice] agencies,” he continued. “To have this type of interference puts our officers at great risk – not only the officers. It puts the aliens at great risk ’cause anything can happen when we take our eyes off the goal here.”
ICE reported that they arrested 194 members of Tren de Aragua between January 21st and February 3rd. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that President Donald Trump has received assurances from Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro that he will accept the gang members after they are deported back to their home country.
