Jeffrey Epstein’s former butler of 18 years says he does not believe the convicted pedophile took his own life in prison.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Valdson Vieira Cotrin — who worked as Epstein’s chauffeur, cook, and housekeeper in Paris — said the financier “loved life too much” and was confident he would be granted bail before his death.
“I am like his brother,” Cotrin said. “I don’t believe this was suicide. He loved life too much.”
Butler and Partner Claim Foul Play
Cotrin’s partner, Maria Gomes de Melo, echoed his view. “Honestly, he loved life too much to float away like that,” she said of the official finding that Epstein hanged himself in August 2019.
The couple’s comments come as speculation continues over Epstein’s death, with many pointing to his political and celebrity connections, including high-profile figures who flew on his private plane, dubbed the “Lolita Express.”
FBI Director Stands by Official Story
FBI Director Kash Patel, speaking on The Joe Rogan Experience, said he accepts the official finding of suicide. “We’ve reviewed all the information… He killed himself,” Patel stated, adding that video from Epstein’s cell will be released.
Patel acknowledged that not everyone will be convinced, even after viewing the footage.
Maxwell Also Disputes Suicide Narrative
Epstein’s former associate Ghislaine Maxwell, now serving a prison sentence for her role in his sex-trafficking operation, has also claimed he was murdered.
“I believe that he was murdered,” Maxwell said in a 2023 prison interview. “I was sure he was going to appeal… and was covered under the non-prosecution agreement.”
