Dennis Prager’s Co-Host Pleads for Prayers After Giving Update on His Condition

Dennis Prager, the conservative radio host and co-founder of PragerU, is facing a challenging recovery after a serious fall last week that left him hospitalized.

Julie Hartman, his co-host on the “Dennis and Julie” podcast, provided an emotional update on his condition, asking listeners to keep Prager in their thoughts and prayers.

“As many of you probably know by now, on Tuesday, Dennis suffered a terrible fall and was immediately hospitalized,” Hartman shared during her podcast. “He entered surgery, and now we are praying for the best possible outcome.”

Details about the nature of Prager’s injury remain limited, but Hartman made it clear that the road ahead would be long. “Tragically, this is not a ‘he will be back next week’ situation. This is a long haul and a long recovery for Dennis,” she said, visibly moved. “That is why I humbly ask you for your prayers.”

Prager, 75, suffered the fall on November 12 and underwent surgery soon after. A statement released by PragerU confirmed the incident, describing his injuries as “serious” and noting that he is being treated at a Los Angeles hospital.

Shortly after Hartman addressed the audience, Salem Media Group issued an update surrounding Prager’s recovery. “There is still a lot of swelling and inflammation around his nick and upper spine,” the message reads. “Until that recedes, it’s hard to get a good sense of where this is all headed.”

“On Tuesday morning, PragerU founder and our dear friend, Dennis Prager, suffered a serious back injury following a fall. He’s resting in a local Los Angeles hospital as doctors assess treatment options,” the organization shared on social media. “In the meantime, Dennis welcomes the healing power of your prayers.”

Messages of support and encouragement have poured in from fans, colleagues, and prominent conservative voices. Megyn Kelly, Eric Metaxas, and others took to social media to express their well-wishes. Metaxas described Prager as a “national treasure” and urged his followers to “lift him up before the throne of God’s grace.”

Hartman echoed the gratitude felt by Prager’s family and team, noting the overwhelming support from listeners and well-wishers. “People from all walks of life and all faiths have written the most gracious messages to Sue [Prager’s wife], to me, to Sean, to Alan Estrin, and to Dennis’s extended family members with your support and your promises of prayer,” she said. “Since Tuesday, every single day, we have seen modest improvements. Modest, but, nevertheless, improvements.”

Prager has been a prominent voice in conservative media for decades, hosting a nationally syndicated radio show and co-founding PragerU in 2009. Known for his commentary on politics, religion, and culture, he has amassed a devoted following through his books, lectures, and media appearances.

The incident has sparked concern among Prager’s supporters, given his decades of influence and his age. While specific details about his condition remain scarce, Hartman reassured listeners that updates would be provided as more information becomes available. “We don’t know very much right now,” she said. “But I promise you that we will be more forthcoming in the coming days with that information as we learn it.”
