Colter Wall Shifts Gears: Cancels Tour to Prioritize Mental Well-being

Colter Wall, the celebrated country artist, has opted to cancel the rest of his 2026 tour and enter an indefinite hiatus from performances. This decision stems from his ongoing battles with mental health.

The 2026 Memories and Empties Tour started in January, where Wall managed to finish nearly 20 shows despite experiencing interruptions.

His concerts in Fort Worth, Texas, on January 23 and 24 were previously scrapped due to severe winter weather. Additionally, he had delayed his February and March 2025 performances for personal reasons related to both his mental and physical well-being. Most recently, he unexpectedly halted a show in Evansville, Indiana, just before it was supposed to begin.

In an Instagram statement released on Wednesday, Wall shared the reasoning behind canceling the remaining tour dates: to prioritize his mental health. “The truth is that I am mentally unwell. Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result my mental health has only further declined,” explained the Saskatchewan native.

“After discussions with my team, we have decided to cancel the remaining shows and take an indefinite hiatus from live music,” he added.

The canceled shows include performances in Indianapolis on March 11 and 12, Cincinnati on March 13, and Detroit on March 14. Fans who purchased tickets will receive automatic refunds from their point of purchase.

The announcement has garnered significant support from his fanbase. One supporter on Instagram expressed, “although a lot of people are sad, this was the best thing he could’ve done; his mental health is more important.”

Another fan commented, “Good job Colter for taking time for yourself. Mental health is just as important as physical health.” Positive feedback flooded Wall’s post, with many fans extending their well wishes.

Known for blending traditional country with rock and folk influences, Wall started playing guitar at the age of 13. His first independent EP launched in 2015, followed by four studio albums, the latest being “Memories And Empties,” the focus of the now-canceled tour.

Wall is considered one of the rising talents in the country music scene, with his music featured in the popular TV series “Yellowstone,” as well as in Taylor Sheridan’s acclaimed film “Hell Or High Water.”
