He said a staffer took the SD cards to protect them and later turned them over to investigators.

Kolvet posted on X that he and Tucker Carlson discussed the SD cards on The Charlie Kirk Show.
He confirmed the staffer was a “loyal man” and a “dear friend.”

“The individual made the right call,” Kolvet said.
He added that the staffer acted to prevent theft from the crowd.
Kolvet praised his quick thinking during a chaotic moment.
Tucker and I addressed what happened with the SD cards after the assassination. The individual who grabbed them is a longtime staffer, a loyal man, and a dear friend. He made the right call. I’m still stunned he had the presence of mind to ensure no one stole them. pic.twitter.com/L4YY6OFU6G

He said the FBI now has the cards from the cameras used that day.
Kolvet emphasized all material was properly handed over to authorities.
Rumors Online
Speculation spread on X after clips of the incident went viral.
One video suggested evidence tampering by men removing SD cards.
It claimed footage was secretly passed to another person behind a tent.
That video has already drawn more than 4 million views.
Minutes after Charlie Kirk’s shooting a man in grey uses Kirk’s chair (evidence tampering) to jump up and remove presumably an SD card from the above head camera (more evidence tampering).
But here is the kicker. He slyly passes it off to another man behind the tent, who then… pic.twitter.com/IQYlIRNnN7

Some online users accused Turning Point staffers of covering up the shooting.
Kolvet dismissed those claims as unfounded conspiracy theories.
He said the truth is that staff acted responsibly under pressure.
Tyler Bowyer Responds
Turning Point USA COO Tyler Bowyer also weighed in.
He confirmed the person in the video was head of the show’s tech team.

“All video was turned over immediately to investigators,” Bowyer wrote.
He warned against “doxxing or villainizing” Kirk’s closest staff.
Bowyer said targeting grieving colleagues was “not right.”
He defended the team’s integrity in the aftermath of tragedy.
He said conspiracy theorists were undermining good people.
Protecting Evidence
Kolvet reiterated that the staffer wanted to keep evidence safe.
He said the man had the presence of mind to protect the footage.
Without his action, valuable recordings might have been stolen.
The FBI’s custody ensures the footage will be reviewed as evidence.
Turning Point leaders said they are fully cooperating with investigators.
