Charlie Kirk Distanced Himself from Candace Owens for Going ‘Down the Rabbit Holes’

Charlie Kirk reportedly distanced himself from Candace Owens years before his assassination.

Eric Bolling said the two had a “break-up” when Owens’ theories grew too extreme.

Bolling’s Account

Bolling spoke about the rift on Patrick Bet-David’s “PBD Podcast.”

He said Kirk and Owens were “tight” early in their TPUSA work.

But he added that Owens’ views went “too far down the rabbit holes.”

“It was too extreme for TPUSA’s taste,” Bolling explained.

He said Kirk kept cordial ties but communication ended years ago.

Bolling also claimed Owens has no relationship with Kirk’s widow, Erika.

He noted the two had not meaningfully spoken in many years.

Owens’ TPUSA Role

Owens served as communications director at TPUSA from 2017 to 2019.

She later left the group but still spoke at events occasionally.

She appeared at TPUSA programs as late as 2024.

Owens’ profile remained visible on TPUSA’s website until recently.

Bolling said he last saw her in person around 2015 or 2016.

He said she had not been a regular presence at TPUSA events for years.

Dispute With Ackman

Owens responded to The Post by attacking hedge fund manager Bill Ackman.

She accused him of using the newspaper as “attack dogs.”

Owens alleged Ackman staged a pro-Israel “intervention” with Kirk.

She claimed it was backed by the Israeli government to “blackmail” him.

Ackman flatly denied the accusations in posts on X.

He released screenshots of text exchanges with Kirk to rebut her claims.

Netanyahu and TPUSA

Owens cited a Grayzone report alleging Israeli influence on TPUSA.

The article claimed Netanyahu offered to channel pro-Israel money into the group.

It also claimed Kirk refused such funding.

Netanyahu posted a video denouncing suggestions Israel played any role in Kirk’s assassination.

TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet said Charlie and Candace remained friends.

Bolling said he saw nothing threatening in Ackman’s interactions with Kirk.

Bolling’s Conclusion

Bolling said Owens’ claims about Ackman “don’t square” with reality.

“I don’t hear anything that’s a threat,” he told the podcast.

Eric Bolling

He argued her narrative was exaggerated and politically motivated.

He maintained Kirk moved away from Owens’ influence years ago.

The alleged “break-up” reflected TPUSA’s concern with her extremism.
