Newly uncovered chatroom messages appear to implicate Tyler Robinson, 22, in the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
The Washington Post reported Robinson admitted in Discord messages to killing the 31-year-old conservative leader.
Apparent Confession
A screenshot of the conversation, shared with roughly 30 people on Discord, was obtained by The Washington Post.

“Charlie Kirk got shot,” one user wrote after the killing.
Another added, “Bro didn’t deserve to go out like that sad.”
Robinson’s account responded the following day.

“Hey guys, I have bad news for you all,” one message read.
“It was me at UVU yesterday. im sorry for all of this.”
“I’m surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments,” Robinson wrote.
“Thanks for all the good times and laughs,” he added.
The message was timestamped 7:57 p.m. local time.
The confession was posted Thursday night.
Two hours later, Robinson’s father alerted authorities.

Robinson surrendered after his father contacted a family pastor and law enforcement.
Discord previously claimed no evidence tied Robinson to planning.
Now the company has shared the confession with law enforcement.
A group member also provided screenshots to the Washington Post.
FBI Evidence
Investigators confirmed Robinson’s DNA was found on a firearm and screwdriver.
Both items were recovered near the rooftop where the fatal shot was taken.
The FBI says Robinson appeared to act on political motives.
He said agents are reviewing other deleted posts.
He promised evidence would be obtained “legally” to preserve its value.
Governor’s Statement
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said Robinson was motivated by “leftist ideology.”

Cox linked Robinson’s radicalization to online forums and his roommate.
The roommate was a transgender individual in a romantic relationship with Robinson.
Family Testimony
Family members told investigators Robinson grew “more political” recently.

They recalled him accusing Kirk of spreading “hate” on campuses.
Officials said his politics shifted sharply left after dropping out of college.
