NBC News Meet the Press host Kristen Welker has just revealed in a new national poll that the lead that Kamala Harris held a month ago has evaporated.
Welker said on MSNBC News this morning:
“The big headline – this is a national head-to-head poll – is that VP Kamala Harris had a five point lead in our last poll taken a month ago right after the debate.
“That lead has all but evaporated.”
Welker goes on to suggest the race is deadlocked at 48% to 48%.
Here’s the video:
“VP Kamala Harris had a five point lead in our last poll taken a month ago, right after the debate. That lead has all but evaporated. Willie, take a look at this new head to head matchup, 48% to 48%. That is what we call a deadlocked race.” – @KWelkerNBC on a new @NBCNews poll. pic.twitter.com/HBLPS0ybtv

Welker says Kamala’s lead is now gone, but what that really means is that President Trump has taken those 5% points and added it to his own, meaning he clearly has the momentum going into the last few weeks of the race.
There’s also something else Welker isn’t saying:
Welker knows that a tied race in the popular vote means almost certainty that Trump wins the electoral college, yet here she is selling it as a deadlocked race.
Kamala has hemorrhaged five points since the last time this NBC poll was taken . https://t.co/HXqhTGKtrV

I know the state polls matter most, but as we saw in the primaries these national polls matter too and if this is accurate, President Trump wins his second term.
