An active shooter incident is ongoing in Cloquet, Minnesota, with police reporting “several victims” of gunshot wounds and the assailant still on the loose.

Following an incident along Big Lake Road and Highway 33, the Cloquet Police Department issued the notice just after 7 p.m.
“There is an active shooter incident in progress, and the suspect is still at large,” authorities said in a news release.
“Please stay calm and take immediate action to ensure your safety.
“If you are currently in the affected area, seek shelter immediately.
“Go to a room with a lock if possible, close and lock all windows and doors, and remain quiet.
“Call 911 if you see anything suspicious.”
According to Northland media accounts, police action is concentrated near a Super 8 motel, and Northern News Now adds that local police have verified many gunshot casualties.
Residents in the affected region have been warned that there is a “extraordinary threat to life or property,” and are advised to seek shelter until further notice.
To avoid attracting attention, they are instructed to lock all windows and doors and switch off all lights and gadgets.
They are also instructed to turn off their phones and remain away from windows.
Atlas News reported that two people had been injured at the time of publication.
