An illegal alien who entered the U.S. under President Joe Biden’s open border policies shot an off-duty Border Patrol agent in the face and arm during a robbery in New York City Saturday night, according to law enforcement.
The attack occurred around 11:50 p.m. in Fort Washington Park in Manhattan, while the 42-year-old agent and a female companion were sitting by the Hudson River.
They were approached by two men on a moped—one of whom, identified as Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, opened fire.

Agent Shot, Returns Fire
Despite being hit in the face and forearm, the agent returned fire, hitting the suspect and stopping the attack.
The Border Patrol agent was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery. He is expected to survive.
The wounded illegal alien, Mora Nunez, was taken into custody. The second suspect remains at large.
“The officer, who was off duty at the time, is currently in the hospital in stable condition,” said the Department of Homeland Security.
Criminal History Ignored
Mora Nunez, an illegal alien from the Dominican Republic, had a criminal history, including felony arrests for 2nd and 3rd degree assault and an active deportation order, DHS confirmed.
“One of the alleged perpetrators was an illegal alien with prior arrests… and an order of deportation,” the agency stated.
Footage of the ambush was released by DHS and shared by Fox News’ Bill Melugin, along with a photo of the suspect.

Biden’s Border Policies Under Fire
The shooting has reignited outrage over the Biden administration’s border failures, with critics pointing to this case as another example of dangerous criminals slipping into the country under lax enforcement.
The suspect reportedly entered the U.S. in 2023, the same year illegal crossings hit record highs.
As of now, DHS has not confirmed why Mora Nunez was still in the country despite the deportation order and his prior felony charges.
