The topic last night on CNN’s late night panel was the decision by a federal judge to order President Trump to release his freeze on funds immediately.
As we told you, over the weekend Vice President JD Vance tweeted that judges are not allowed to control legitimate power being exercised by the executive branch. But that’s exactly what this judge did. Because of Vance’s tweet, the garbage media is trying to claim we are in a ‘Constitutional crisis’ because Trump is disobeying a federal judge.
Scott Jennings did battle over this last night, defending Trump’s decision to defy this activist judge and keep the freeze on funding. He, like Vance, says a judge cannot decide when and how to spend federal funds – that is not in his authority.
Jennings did concede one point, saying we are in Constitutional crisis, but one that is created by federal judges.
Of course CNN’s host Abby Phillip accused Jennings of being a hypocrite, suggesting he was arguing all of this because Trump is in power and not Biden.
But Jennings said there is a difference between a judge barring specific policies from going into effect and deciding when and how federal money should be spent. He says Trump cannot allow 300 federal judges to usurp his authority to broadly decide federal spending.
Jennings did have an ally at the table who agreed the judge is wrong, and it was former Governor Chris Sununu.
