During a recent speech on his environmental policies, President Joe Biden vehemently criticized his opponents, including the MAGA Republican group, former President Donald Trump, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Biden’s remarks were made during a private fundraiser in San Francisco, where he referred to Putin as a “crazy SOB.” While discussing climate change, Biden said this.
“We have a crazy SOB like Putin and others, and we always have to worry about nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is climate.”
Biden was taken aback by recent remarks made by his expected Republican opponent. The AP reported that Biden criticized Trump’s statements regarding the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny in an Arctic prison. Trump drew a parallel between Navalny’s suspicious death and his own legal issues in the United States.
This came after Trump was ordered to pay a fine of $354.8 million plus around $100 million in pre-judgment interest. The decision was made by New York Judge Arthur Engoron, who found that Trump had exaggerated his net worth to secure more favorable loan terms. New York Attorney General Letitia James has stated that she is ready to seize Trump’s assets if he does not comply with the penalty.
Trump referred to the ruling as a type of “communism or fascism.” Biden, on the other hand, expressed his astonishment at the comparison.
Biden went on to say:
“Some of the things that this fellow’s been saying like he’s comparing himself to Navalny and saying that — because our country’s become a communist country, he was persecuted, just like Navalny was persecuted.
“I don’t know where the hell this comes from.
“I mean, if I stood here 10, 15 years ago and said any of this, you’d all think I should be committed. It astounds me.”
“I’ve been around a long time and I’ve never quite seen a crowd like this MAGA Republican crowd,” Biden added, referring to Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan.
“They seem to have very little moral compass on what is important to people.”
The Kremlin did not react positively to Biden’s comments regarding Putin. Moscow retaliated by accusing Biden of trying to emulate a “Hollywood cowboy.” Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Kremlin, further stated that this kind of language only serves to degrade America. Peskov suggested that Biden’s remark was likely an effort to portray himself as a Hollywood cowboy.
“But honestly I don’t think it’s possible.”
“Has Mr Putin ever used one crude word to address you?” he added.
“This has never happened.
“Therefore, I think that such vocabulary debases America itself.”
