Beloved Country Star Faces Recovery After Serious Fall

Ray Stevens, a legendary figure in country music, is currently recuperating at home following a frightening fall in Nashville that resulted in a broken neck. The 87-year-old artist was briefly hospitalized after the incident, as highlighted by his team.

Known for hits like Everything Is Beautiful and Misty, Stevens received medical advice to wear a neck brace for four weeks during his recovery. Fortunately, he is moving about and maintaining a positive attitude as he heals.

This recent accident follows another health challenge he faced less than a year ago. In July 2025, Stevens experienced a mild heart attack after feeling chest pains, leading to a heart catheterization procedure in Nashville, followed by the placement of two stents.

During his previous recovery, Stevens had to cancel several performances at the CabaRay Showroom in West Nashville. However, he kept fans updated with positive messages through his Instagram account.

In a heartfelt post, his team shared, ‘Ray is out of ICU and beginning to walk the halls with assistance from a nurse as he focuses on his recovery.’ They also highlighted his gratitude for the supportive messages from fans.

Despite the challenges, Stevens is determined to proceed with his plans. His latest album, Favorites Old & New, is set to launch this Friday, offering a mix of classic standards and new tracks.

The 13-song collection features timeless pieces like The Look of Love, alongside fresh material such as I Guess You’ve Never Been in Love With the Moon. Stevens expressed his enjoyment in creating this album, stating, ‘I hope Ray Stevens fans enjoy it as much as Ray Stevens!’

Born Ray Ragsdale in Georgia, Stevens has established himself as a staple in the music industry, blending traditional country with novelty hits like Ahab the Arab and The Streak.
