Baltimore Mass Shooting Leaves 1 Dead, 5 Wounded

A man is dead and five others — including a young child — were wounded in a mass shooting Saturday night in Northwest Baltimore.

Police say the gunfire erupted just after 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of Spaulding and Queensbury avenues.

Officers arrived to find six victims: four adult men, one woman, and a 5-year-old girl. All were transported to local hospitals.

One Fatality, Child Expected to Recover

Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said the child was shot in the hand and is expected to recover.

“Thankfully, it doesn’t appear that her injury is very serious,” Worley said.

A 38-year-old man, initially listed in critical condition, died from his injuries after undergoing surgery.

The four remaining adult victims — ranging from 23 to 52 years old — are being treated for non-life-threatening wounds.

Shooting Appears Random

“It just looked like some people were sitting outside on the porch and having some crabs,” Worley said.

“And looked like somebody just opened fire.”

Police have not released a motive and are urging anyone with information to call 410-396-2455.
