B-2 Stealth Bombers Deployed to UK Bases as Trump Signals Larger Strikes on Iran

U.S. B-2 stealth bombers are slated to arrive at British-linked bases as the White House prepares for a possible escalation against Iran.

Aircraft were scheduled to land on Diego Garcia in the Chagos Islands and at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, according to reports.

London reportedly initially declined a U.S. request to use its runways before Prime Minister Keir Starmer approved the basing within days.

Permission was granted for limited defensive operations after Iran began launching missiles and drones across the region, raising threats to U.S. partners.

The bomber move coincides with President Trump declaring that the worst of the strikes are yet to come.

“We haven’t even started hitting them hard,” Trump said.

“The big wave hasn’t even happened,” Trump added.

“The big one is coming soon,” Trump said.

The White House says the campaign aims to incapacitate Iran’s ability to wage war by targeting not only missiles and drones but the infrastructure that supports them.

Officials argue Iran’s navy, air defenses and strike capabilities must not be allowed to regroup as retaliation widens across the Middle East.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth indicated strikes could intensify with more basing options and said firepower over Tehran was about to surge, according to the Telegraph.

“When we say more to come, it’s more fighter squadrons, it’s more capabilities, it’s more defensive capabilities,” Hegseth said.

“And it’s more bomber pulses more frequently,” he added.

Israeli military chief Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir warned there are additional surprises ahead in the joint U.S.-Israeli campaign.

He said the next phase would “further dismantle the regime and its military capabilities”.

The B-2 Spirit is among the Pentagon’s most potent platforms, built to penetrate heavy air defenses and deliver precision strikes.

They were used early in the conflict to strike Iranian ballistic missile sites, according to Fox News.

Each B-2 is estimated to cost roughly $2 billion, making them the most expensive warplanes in service.

The buildup reinforces the message from President Trump and Pentagon leaders that Iran’s defenses are cracking and the U.S. will press its advantage by sea, air and across Iran’s military structure.
