Miles Taylor — the former Trump administration official who secretly wrote anti-Trump op-eds for liberal outlets while claiming to be part of the “resistance” inside the White House — is back in the spotlight, warning left-wing audiences that President Trump might arrest his political enemies.
Taylor, who outed himself in 2020 as the anonymous author, appeared on MSNBC this week suggesting the Trump administration will “cross the Rubicon” and put high-profile anti-Trump figures in handcuffs.
Taylor Says He’s “Reasonably Confident” He Didn’t Commit Treason
“I am reasonably confident I did not commit treason against the United States of America,” Taylor said, before claiming Trump will target people like himself, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and Rep. Adam Schiff.
“They want to go shine a light on these people… and find the traffic infraction that they can lord over them to make their lives very, very difficult,” Taylor said. “The president is under enormous pressure from the MAGA base to put these people in handcuffs.”
Taylor predicted that “one of these newscasts… we’re going to be reporting breathlessly that one of these people… has been picked up and is in detention.”
Selective Outrage From the Left
Taylor’s warnings ignore the fact that Democrats have already used the justice system to target Trump allies — from the FBI’s early-morning raid on Roger Stone’s home with CNN cameras in tow to years of investigations designed to damage Trump politically.
Now, many of those same figures who cheered those actions express shock that there could be consequences when political power changes hands.
