‘Alligator Alcatraz’ Detainee Complains About Harsh Conditions

A Cuban migrant charged with aggravated assault is now whining to the media about life inside Florida’s toughest immigration detention center — known as “Alligator Alcatraz.”

Leamsy “La Figura” Izquierdo, a 34-year-old “urban artist” from Havana, was arrested in Miami-Dade County after a violent altercation involving a deadly weapon. He was transferred to the new Ochopee-based detention facility, built by the State of Florida to house criminal illegal aliens awaiting deportation.

Florida’s Toughest Facility Yet

Nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz”, the prison sits deep in the Everglades and is surrounded by gators, snakes, and swarms of mosquitoes — making escape both impossible and unwise.

It’s part of Gov. Ron DeSantis’ crackdown on illegal alien criminals: no frills, no comforts, and no apologies.

Violent Migrant: “I Haven’t Showered in 4 Days!”

In a sob story interview with NBC 6 South Florida, Izquierdo aired his long list of grievances about the facility:

  • Claims he hasn’t been allowed to shower in 4 days

  • Says he’s only fed once a day, and that food sometimes has worms

  • Complains the lights are on 24/7, making it hard to sleep

  • Complains about cold tents — in Florida’s blazing summer

  • Says the mosquitoes are the size of elephants

“The Conditions Are Brutal” — That’s the Point

Unlike soft, taxpayer-funded holding centers in blue states that offer TV, books, gyms, and lawyers on demand, Florida’s Alligator Alcatraz is designed to deter, not reward, those who break our laws.
