Alert: China May Target U.S. if Iran Tensions Escalate

With U.S.-Iran tensions nearing a critical juncture, concerns are growing about a potential escalation that could reach American territory.

Foreign policy analyst Gordon Chang highlighted concerning drone incidents above U.S. military bases. He posits that these may indicate a deliberate warning from China linked to America’s increased involvement in the Iranian conflict.

In the past month, several unidentified drones were reported over key U.S. installations. Chang noted that these were not typical hobbyist drones; their size and advanced capabilities suggest involvement from a foreign power—most likely China or possibly Russia.

“Last month, we witnessed drones over four significant military bases, which appear to be controlled by some foreign entity. They are large and resistant to hacking, indicating state-level involvement,” Chang noted during an appearance on “Mornings with Maria.”

He emphasized the need for the U.S. to enhance its defensive posture, suggesting that these drone flights serve as warnings regarding a potential threat.

The drone incidents coincide with President Trump ramping up pressure on Iran to comply with U.S. demands. At a recent Easter event, Trump revealed that Iranian negotiators had put forward a “significant proposal,” yet it still did not align with U.S. expectations.

“Their proposal is a step in the right direction, but it lacks sufficiency,” Trump remarked.

The administration has set a deadline for Iran to meet its conditions, reflecting a strategy of diplomatic pressure coupled with military readiness. The U.S. is bolstering its air and naval presence in the region, while Israel has launched targeted operations against Iranian interests.

Chang cautioned that China’s actions could be a precursor to its response if the situation worsens. He pointed to not only the drone activities but also a suspicious device found near MacDill Air Force Base, suggesting a broader strategy at play.

“We need to be wary; these are signals that China might be contemplating action against the U.S. homeland,” said Chang.

He also warned that China’s relationships with Russia and Iran should be viewed as part of a growing alliance among U.S. adversaries, complicating any American countermeasures.

“China is backing Russia in Ukraine and cooperating in various other issues. Their partnership is robust, and any aid to one helps bolster the other,” he explained.

In light of these dynamics, Chang argued that escalation in one area could provoke responses elsewhere, including direct actions toward the U.S.

Currently, diplomatic efforts between Washington and Tehran remain delicate, with past ceasefire attempts faltering. While Iran’s recent proposal indicates some forward movement, it doesn’t meet U.S. standards.

The upcoming hours are critical. Should Iran fail to comply with the deadline, Trump has warned of “severe consequences,” heightening the risk of further military engagement.
