Well-known attorney Alan Dershowitz announced on Monday that his son, Elon Dershowitz, passed away on Sunday at the age of 64 after suffering a stroke.
The Harvard law professor emeritus shared the news in a post on X, linking to a Newsmax story about his son’s passing.
Career in Film and Documentaries
Elon was a respected film producer, best known for his work on Reversal of Fortune starring Glenn Close and Jeremy Irons.
His film credits also included Oliver Stone’s Wall Street and Denzel Washington’s Fallen.
In addition to feature films, Elon produced a number of sports documentaries for ESPN, including Pete Rose on Trial, Break Up the Bombers, and Whose Curse is Worse.
He also helped produce his father’s podcast, The Dershow.
Passion for Storytelling and Sports
Known for blending sports with storytelling, Elon had a lifelong passion for basketball and closely followed his favorite teams in both the NBA and WNBA.
His early performances included magic shows for diverse audiences, such as former Sen. Edward Kennedy and members of the Boston Celtics.
Family and Funeral Arrangements
Elon was preceded in death by his mother, Sue, and his aunt, Marilyn. He is survived by his father, Alan, his stepmother, and extended family.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday in New York City.
