Active Shooter Rams Truck into Michigan Church, Opens Fire — Suspect Killed

An active shooter driving a truck rammed his vehicle into a Christian church in Wayne, Michigan, on Sunday morning and opened fire.

An armed security guard shot and killed the suspect, identified as a 31-year-old man.

The Detroit News reported that a deacon ran over the shooter which made it easier for the security guard to fatally shoot the suspect.

According to Wayne police, one victim was shot in the leg.

“The Wayne Police Department responded to an active shooter at Crosspointe Church in Wayne this morning. Upon arrival, officers determined that a security guard for the church shot and killed the suspect. One victim was shot in the leg. Please avoid the area. Officers are still actively investigating,” the Wayne Police Department said on Facebook.

At least one person was injured in a shooting at a Wayne church on Sunday morning, police and sources tell 7 News Detroit. The suspected shooter was reportedly killed by a security guard.

We’re told the shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. at Crosspointe Community Church, shortly after the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service started.

A police source tells us that the armed suspect was on his way to the church when another person tried to stop him with their truck. He reportedly opened fire at the truck, and that’s when a security guard got involved. Wayne Police confirmed on Facebook that the suspect was shot and killed by a security guard at the church.

Wayne police said one victim was shot in the leg.

Update: FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino said the FBI is on the scene assisting local law enforcement.

Religion must be really dangerous now if armed guards have to be there. Which ever god this church worshipped must be a bit upset.
