ABC News Station in Sacramento Struck by Gunfire

An ABC affiliate in Sacramento was struck by gunfire Friday afternoon.

The incident came one day after protesters gathered outside over Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension.

The Shooting

Sacramento Police confirmed ABC10 (KXTV) was hit by at least three bullets.

The shots shattered a window that faces the street.

Employees were inside the building at the time of the shooting.

No one was injured, but police are treating the case as a drive-by.

The gunfire was reported at about 1:30 p.m. Friday.

Officers have not released any suspect information or motive.

Investigators are still determining if the attack was targeted.

Police Response

Officer Anthony Gamble condemned the shooting in strong terms.

“We haven’t had a lot of attacks on our media partners,” he said.

“We’d like to keep it that way,” Gamble added.

“To those responsible, this is unacceptable behavior,” he warned.

He pledged police would not stop searching for those involved.

Detectives remained on the scene late into Friday afternoon.

The station’s parent company confirmed staff were unharmed.

ABC10’s Statement

“All of our employees are safe and unharmed,” spokesperson Molly McMahon said.

She said the station is cooperating fully with law enforcement.

Additional safety measures have been implemented for employees.

The company thanked police for their quick response to the shooting.

KXTV’s management said programming continued without disruption.

Employees described the incident as frightening but were relieved no one was hurt.

Kimmel Controversy

The shooting followed ABC’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week.

Kimmel sparked backlash with remarks about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

He claimed conservatives were twisting the killer’s ideology for politics.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr called his comments “sick” and pressured ABC.

Disney announced Kimmel’s show would be “pre-empted indefinitely.”

President Trump praised the suspension as “great news for America.”

Political Fallout

Democrats accused ABC of caving to political pressure.

Kimmel’s supporters say the network betrayed a loyal star.

Sources told the Daily Mail Kimmel feels “angry but unbowed.”

Friends said he believes Disney feared further inflaming conservatives.

Kimmel has not publicly apologized and stands by his remarks.

Police have not linked the Sacramento shooting to the Kimmel controversy.
