Ashley Biden, daughter of President Joe Biden, has posted and quickly deleted an Instagram Story that appeared to accuse her estranged husband, Dr. Howard Krein, of being unfaithful — just hours before filing for divorce.

Instagram Post Suggests Cheating
In the since-deleted Story, the 44-year-old former first daughter shared a photo of a man and woman walking hand in hand, taken from behind. Over the image, she wrote: “My husband and his girlfriend holding hands” and set it to the Notorious B.I.G. track “Another” featuring Lil’ Kim — a song about infidelity.
She highlighted a lyric in the segment she posted: “What do you do when your man is untrue? Do you cut the sucker off and find someone new?”
The individuals in the image were not immediately identifiable, but the implication was clear.
Divorce Filing Follows Social Media Post
Hours after the post, Biden filed for divorce from Krein, a 58-year-old Philadelphia-based plastic surgeon, after 13 years of marriage. Court filings show she is seeking spousal support and claims she is “unable to sustain herself” while the divorce is pending.
She is requesting a no-fault divorce, citing an “irretrievably broken” marriage and confirming the couple is living “separate and apart.”
Social Media Messages Point to “New Beginnings”
Another deleted Instagram Story showed Biden walking through a park, giving a thumbs-up to the tune of Beyoncé’s “Freedom.” A third post, set to Lauryn Hill’s “Freedom Time,” included a quote about “new boundaries” and “new ways of being.”
From White House Weddings to Court Filings
Biden and Krein married in 2012 at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church in Delaware, two years after meeting through Ashley’s late brother, Beau Biden. The reception was held at the Biden family’s lakeside home, where then–Vice President Joe Biden personally prepared the venue for his daughter’s wedding.
Krein, an otolaryngologist at Thomas Jefferson University, once served on the Biden Cancer Initiative board and informally advised Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign on COVID-19 policy.
At the 2024 Democratic National Convention, Ashley Biden recalled her father’s emotional words before walking her down the aisle: “He turned to me and said he would always be my best friend. All these years later, Dad, you are still my best friend.”
