A 37-year-old former Justice Department employee is facing a felony charge for allegedly assaulting a federal officer — with a Subway sandwich.
Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the man has been fired from his job at DOJ and will be prosecuted.
Felony Assault With a Sandwich
Sean Charles Dunn is accused of shouting at a group of federal officers, calling them “fascists,” before throwing his sandwich at them and striking a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent.
The incident was reportedly caught on video:

Bondi wasted no time making the consequences clear. “If you touch any law enforcement officer, we will come after you. Not only is he FIRED, he has been charged with a felony,” Bondi posted to X. “This is an example of the Deep State we have been up against for seven months as we work to refocus DOJ.”
Pirro: “Stick Your Subway Sandwich Somewhere Else”
D.C. U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro also addressed the case, saying: “He thought it was funny. Well, he doesn’t think it’s funny today because we charged him with a felony: Assault on a police officer.”
Pirro added bluntly: “So there, stick your Subway sandwich somewhere else!”

According to the criminal complaint, Dunn confessed: “I did it. I threw a sandwich.”
Comes Amid Trump’s Federal Crime Crackdown
The arrest comes as President Donald Trump has federalized Washington, D.C.’s police force for 30 days, deploying the National Guard and bringing in hundreds of federal officers to restore law and order in the capital.
Since the federalization began, over 100 arrests have been made, including:
The White House reported 23 arrests on Monday and 43 on Tuesday alone.
The D.C. Fraternal Order of Police has accused local leadership of manipulating crime data to downplay the city’s violent crime problem — a claim federal arrests are quickly challenging.
