Gabbard Declassifies Documents Implicating James Clapper in Russiagate

A newly declassified email from former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper reveals how senior Obama-era intelligence officials coordinated to produce the politicized 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that fueled the now-debunked Russia collusion narrative.

Current DNI Tulsi Gabbard released the document Wednesday as part of her ongoing investigation into the origins of the Russiagate scandal and her case against Obama administration officials she says orchestrated it.

The Email and Its Recipients

The Top Secret email, dated December 22, 2016, was sent by Clapper to then-CIA Director John Brennan, then-FBI Director James Comey, and others.

Gabbard said the document shows Clapper urging the intelligence community to treat the Russia probe as a “team sport” and to “compromise” on “normal modalities” — even as concerns were raised internally about the lack of complete intelligence review.

NSA Director Raised Concerns

The email was a direct response to then-NSA Director Mike Rogers, who warned that his agency did not have “sufficient access” to all underlying intelligence and that his analysts were not “fully comfortable” claiming they had enough time to reach absolute confidence in their conclusions.

Gabbard: “It Came From the Very Top”

“The leading figures in the Russia hoax have spent years deceiving the American public by presenting their manufactured and politicized assessments as credible intelligence,” Gabbard said.

She added: “The email released today reinforces what we already exposed: The decision to compromise standards and violate protocols in the creation of the 2017 manufactured intelligence assessment was deliberate and came from the very top.”
