Three people were injured early Saturday morning when a 17-year-old opened fire in New York City’s Times Square, sending crowds running from the popular tourist hub.
The shooting broke out around 1:20 a.m. near 44th Street and 7th Avenue during a dispute between two individuals, according to the NYPD.
Victims Hospitalized
An 18-year-old woman was grazed in the neck, while two men, ages 19 and 65, were shot in the legs. All three were taken to Bellevue Hospital and are listed in stable condition.
Police say the suspected shooter, who has not been identified due to his age, was taken into custody. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Chaos in Tourist District
Witness video posted on X shows crowds scattering outside the Hard Rock Cafe as gunfire erupted.
Waves of police officers rushed to secure the area, with at least one victim seen being wheeled into an ambulance.
