James Comer Warns Clintons About Consequences of Not Complying with Subpoena

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has warned Bill and Hillary Clinton that they could face contempt of Congress if they defy a bipartisan subpoena over their alleged ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The subpoenas, approved with both Republican and Democrat votes, demand testimony from the Clintons, along with former FBI Director James Comey, multiple former U.S. attorneys general, former special counsel Robert Mueller, and the Department of Justice itself for all Epstein-related records.

Comer: “I’ve never lost a subpoena battle”

In a video message Wednesday, Comer said:

“I’ve never once lost a subpoena battle in court… You’re not going to have a lot of sympathy from the Trump DOJ if the Clintons fail to comply with a bipartisan, congressionally approved subpoena.”

He stressed that even high-profile figures like Pam Bondi, also subpoenaed for Epstein files, will be expected to abide by the law.

Letters Detail Allegations Against the Clintons

The letter to Bill Clinton reminded him:

  • He flew on Epstein’s private jet four times in 2002–2003.

  • On one trip, he was photographed receiving a massage from an Epstein victim.

  • He allegedly pressured Vanity Fair not to publish sex trafficking allegations against Epstein.

  • Conflicting reports place him on Epstein’s private island.

  • He was close to Ghislaine Maxwell, attending an intimate dinner with her in 2014 — three years after public reports tied her to Epstein’s abuse of minors.

The letter to Hillary Clinton noted:

Public Demands Answers

Comer said interest in the Epstein files is overwhelming:

“Everywhere I’ve been in Kentucky this week, people want to know about the Epstein files… Congress is very clear in this — we expect the American people to get the truth.”

With the subpoenas now issued, the Clintons must decide whether to cooperate or risk a public legal battle — one that Comer insists he’s ready to win.
