House Oversight Committee Subpoenas Pam Bondi

The U.S. House Oversight Committee on Tuesday formally subpoenaed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, compelling her to testify as part of the committee’s widening investigation into the Jeffrey Epstein case.

Chairman James Comer (R-KY) confirmed that Bondi will appear before the committee on August 19, and unlike previous subpoenas, his letter explicitly demands records related to both Epstein and his longtime accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

House Demands Case Files and Communications

Bondi’s subpoena instructs her to produce a broad range of documents, including:

  • Case files and communications with Ghislaine Maxwell

  • Records connected to Epstein’s network and prior DOJ activity

  • Any investigative materials related to potential co-conspirators

The move signals that House Republicans are escalating pressure on the Justice Department amid mounting demands from the conservative base to uncover the full scope of Epstein’s network.

“The committee will not rest until the American people know the truth,” said one GOP staffer familiar with the subpoena list.

Maxwell Transfer and New Revelations

Bondi’s testimony comes just days after Maxwell was quietly transferred to a minimum-security prison in Texas, following a nine-hour meeting with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

According to insider reports, the meeting yielded a list of “100 individuals” associated with Epstein — names that may include high-profile political, financial, and cultural figures yet to be publicly identified.

Bondi Under Scrutiny Over “Client List” Claims

Bondi previously stirred controversy by suggesting she held a “notorious client list” connected to Epstein. But in July, the Justice Department announced the case was closed, with no further charges forthcoming — a decision that triggered widespread backlash.

Following the outcry, Bondi reversed course and dispatched Blanche to interview Maxwell directly, resulting in the now-infamous “100 names” memo.

Trump Sues WSJ Over Epstein Allegations

The subpoena news also follows fresh allegations targeting President Donald Trump, after The Wall Street Journal published a July exposé claiming Trump once sent Epstein a “bawdy” birthday card, complete with a crude illustration and implied dialogue.

Trump immediately denied the story, filed a defamation suit against The Journal and its owner Rupert Murdoch, and called the accusations “fabricated garbage.”

He further instructed Bondi to petition the court to release sealed grand jury evidence in the Epstein case — a petition a federal judge denied last month, citing concerns over privacy and due process.

Who Else Is Testifying?

Bondi is the 11th figure subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee. Others include:

  • Former President Bill Clinton – Oct. 14

  • Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton – Oct. 9

  • Former AGs: Garland, Holder, Lynch, Barr, Sessions, Gonzales

  • Former FBI Directors: Comey and Mueller

The committee has also demanded DOJ documents related to Epstein by August 19.
