California Medical Staffers Charged After Attacking ICE Agent During Migrant Arrest

Two California medical workers are facing federal charges after attempting to interfere with ICE agents during the lawful arrest of an illegal immigrant who fled into a surgical center in Ontario, California.

Jose de Jesus Ortega, 38, and Danielle Nadine Davila, 33, have both been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding federal officers, the Department of Justice announced Friday.

Ortega was arrested. Davila was still at large as of Friday afternoon.

Illegal Immigrant Ran Into Clinic to Evade ICE

The incident occurred after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents attempted to detain Denis Guillen-Solis, a 30-year-old Honduran national, outside the Ontario Advanced Surgery Center.

Agents had tracked a suspicious vehicle to the center. When they moved in, two men fled on foot, while Guillen-Solis ran inside the building, according to the DOJ.

Medical Workers Confronted Armed Federal Agents

Viral video footage shows medical staff inside the surgery center confronting ICE agents, with one employee shouting:

“Get your hands off of him. You don’t even have a warrant… Let him go. You need to get out.”

ICE agents stated Guillen-Solis was not a patient and had no lawful reason to be inside the clinic — he simply ran inside to avoid arrest.

U.S. Attorney: “False Narrative”

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli slammed the incident as an example of media-driven misinformation designed to undermine federal law enforcement.

“The illegal alien arrested inside the surgery center was not a patient. He ran inside for cover,” Essayli said.
“These defendants attempted to block his apprehension by assaulting our agents.”

“It doesn’t matter who you are or where you work — if you assault our agents or interfere with our operations, you will be arrested and charged with a federal crime.”
