DOJ to Meet with Ghislaine Maxwell

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Tuesday that she has authorized a representative to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, as part of a new effort to determine whether Maxwell can provide valuable information about Epstein’s associates in exchange for a potential sentence reduction.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed he will meet with Maxwell “in the coming days” as Bondi’s designated intermediary to assess the credibility of her claims.

Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Epstein’s underage sex trafficking operation, has served roughly three years since her 2022 conviction. Her most recent motion for early release was denied by DOJ prosecutors last week.

Maxwell Claims She’s Ready to Talk

Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, told CNN that his client is prepared to “testify truthfully” and share “her side of the story” with DOJ officials.

“We are in discussions with the government… Ghislaine will always testify truthfully,” Markus said.
“We are grateful to President Trump for his commitment to uncovering the truth.”

According to Markus, Maxwell believes her conviction violated a 2007 non-prosecution agreement signed between Epstein and federal prosecutors. DOJ officials argue that agreement only applied to the Southern District of Florida—not the broader Justice Department.

Bondi Under Fire from MAGA Supporters

The announcement follows intensifying pressure from MAGA activists, who have demanded greater transparency from the Trump administration about who else was involved in Epstein’s sex trafficking operation—and whether a client list ever existed.

Earlier this month, the DOJ denied the existence of such a list, directly contradicting Bondi’s own public remarks that she had it “on her desk.”

Critics argue the administration is now walking back earlier commitments to full disclosure. Some supporters have expressed frustration with the lack of arrests beyond Epstein and Maxwell.

“Why wasn’t this ‘interview’ with Ghislaine Maxwell done on day 1?” conservative commentator Laura Loomer asked on X.
“Shouldn’t they have already done this?”

DOJ: “No Lead is Off-Limits”

Blanche addressed the criticism directly on X, saying:

“President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence. If Ghislaine Maxwell has information about anyone who has committed crimes against victims, the FBI and the DOJ will hear what she has to say.”

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Blanche added:

“I intend to meet with her soon. No one is above the law—and no lead is off-limits.”

The DOJ has not indicated whether Maxwell will be offered any leniency in exchange for her cooperation.
