Police: Noose Found at Titans’ New Stadium Site

Construction at the site of the Tennessee Titans’ new Nissan Stadium was suspended this week after a noose was reportedly found, prompting an investigation by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

The noose was discovered by the Tennessee Builders Alliance, the group overseeing construction on the new $2 billion stadium, which began earlier this year.

“This week, a racist and hateful symbol was discovered on our site,” the group said. “We reported the incident to law enforcement, suspended work, and launched an investigation.”

Sheriff Clarke: “Give Me a Break”

Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. dismissed the reaction as overblown.

“Work at the site halted? Over this? Oh give me a f***ing break,” Clarke wrote on X.
“Stop the insanity. Treating this as if it’s a workplace accident leading to someone dying. Don’t call in the FBI. They can’t get to the bottom of anything—and it will take them 6 months.”

Clarke’s remarks reflect growing frustration from critics who see these incidents as politically charged overreactions, especially given the lack of clear evidence and the slow pace of federal investigations in past cases.

Mayor, Media Respond

Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell said his office was alerted by the Titans and claimed that efforts are being made at the city and state level to “prevent hate incidents like this.”

Neither the Titans nor the Builders Alliance responded to media inquiries as of Saturday.

The Nissan Stadium is scheduled to open in 2027.
