President Donald Trump ripped the Wall Street Journal on Thursday for publishing what he called a completely fabricated letter allegedly written to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003.
Trump: “It’s a Fake Story”
Trump categorically denied the story, telling the Journal directly:
“This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal story. I never wrote a picture in my life. I don’t draw pictures of women. It’s not my language. It’s not my words.”
The letter, reportedly obtained by the Journal, included an obscene drawing and crude message supposedly sent by Trump to Epstein for his 50th birthday. One line falsely attributed to Trump read:
“Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
The Journal also claimed the note included a transcript of a bizarre poem:
“Voice Over: There must be more to life than having everything.
Donald: Yes, there is, but I won’t tell you what it is.
Jeffrey: Nor will I…
Donald: We have certain things in common, Jeffrey.
Jeffrey: Yes, we do…
Donald: Enigmas never age…
Jeffrey: …it was clear to me the last time I saw you.
Trump: A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
President Trump Threatens to Sue
Trump didn’t mince words — and warned the Journal he’s ready to take legal action.
“I’m gonna sue the Wall Street Journal just like I sued everyone else,” Trump said, referencing his successful lawsuits against CNN, MSNBC, and other outlets that peddled fake news about Russia, Ukraine, and now Epstein.
The Journal’s report has already been widely mocked by supporters online as a desperate hit piece timed to revive interest in the so-called Epstein “client list” — which Trump has called another Democrat-manufactured hoax.
