President Donald Trump fired back on Sunday in response to attorney Sidney Powell’s guilty plea in a Fulton County, Georgia, election case.
“Sidney Powell was one of millions and millions of people who thought, and in ever increasing numbers still think, correctly, that the 2020 Presidential Election was rigged & stolen,” he wrote on Truth Social.
Powell “was not my attorney and never was,” he added.
If she had been his attorney, “she would have been conflicted,” the former president said.
“Ms. Powell did a valiant job of representing a very unfairly treated and governmentally abused General Mike Flynn, but to no avail,” Trump added on Truth Social.
“His prosecution, despite the facts, was ruthless. He was an innocent man, much like many other innocent people who are being persecuted by this now Fascist government of ours, and I was honored to give him a Full Pardon.”
As her Fulton County trial approached, Powell attempted to distance herself from President Trump.
Her attorneys stated in a court filing in August, weeks after she was accused, that she “did not represent President Trump or the Trump campaign” due to the fact that she never signed a “engagement agreement” to be their official attorney.
The court filing added that Ms. Powell’s name was never included in any court filings by the Trump campaign.
On Thursday, Powell entered a plea of guilty on six counts in Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ RICO case against Trump and his alleged associates.
One count that Powell did not plead guilty to — the racketeering conspiracy.
This was the lynchpin of Fani Willis’ case, legal analyst Jonathan Turley notes.
The plea of Sidney Powell to six misdemeanors will allow her to avoid jail and only face minor fines. What she did not plead guilty to was the racketeering conspiracy…

“The plea of Sidney Powell to six misdemeanors will allow her to avoid jail and only face minor fines,” he points out.
“What she did not plead guilty to was the racketeering conspiracy…
“…That was the most serious charge and tied in former president Donald Trump.”
“She agreed to testify truthfully,” he added.
“She is no longer facing a threat of prosecution and can now testify freely.
“That could make her a dangerous witness for both sides.”
Next up for the Fani Willis case: Kenneth Chesebro.
Attorney William Shipley, who has represented a large number of J6 defendants, and who goes by the X handle “shipwreckedcrew,” provided legal analysis.
Let me suggest the following to be true:
IF we get a “guilty” plea for Kenneth Chesebro along the same lines as the “guilty” plea from Sidney Powell ….
That is pretty much 1000% confirmation that Fanni Willis is afraid to go into a courtroom and start calling witnesses who…

“Let me suggest the following to be true: IF we get a “guilty” plea for Kenneth Chesebro along the same lines as the “guilty” plea from Sidney Powell….That is pretty much 1000% confirmation that Fanni Willis is afraid to go into a courtroom and start calling witnesses who will be cross-examined,” he argued.
“If Chesebro gets a similar outcome, it is not Powell and Chesebro who are running from the case,” he contended.
There are already a number of purported flaws in Fani Willis’ racketeering case against Donald Trump and his associates, according to certain legal observers.
Earlier, Judge Scott McAfee ruled to sever the cases of defendants Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, meaning they can’t be tried with Trump.
