‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Sadie Robertson Reveals Phil’s Final Words to Her Before His Death at 79

Sadie Robertson is remembering her grandpa Phil Robertson.

The 27-year-old took to social media to share a moving tribute to the “Duck Dynasty” star, including the last words he spoke to her, following his death at age 79 after a battle with multiple illnesses and Alzheimer’s disease.

“’Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.’ – 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV‬‬,” Sadie wrote on Instagram alongside a slew of family photos over the years. “As I was sitting with Papaw Phil today, I thought about this verse… he has already experienced this on earth—going from dead to alive by the power of Christ!”

Looking back at how Phil creating the Duck Commander hunting company spearheaded the family onto A&E, the reality star added, “It was his testimony that changed his life, our families life, and thousands of others. Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.”

Sadie concluded, “One of the last things he said to me was “full strength ahead!” Amen!”

Phil’s daughter-in-law, Korie Robertson, announced the news of his passing on Instagram Sunday night.

“We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord,” she began. “He reminded us often of the words of Paul, ‘you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”

Korie, 51, explained there will be a private funeral but that details about “a public celebration of his life” will be announced shortly.

“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus,” Korie stated. “We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”

On Monday, the mom of five shared a carousel of family shots, remembering Phil “for showing us all how to live a life 💯 sold out on the greatest commandments: love for God with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength and love for your neighbor as yourself.”

Alongside various pictures of the late patriarch with many Robertson family members over the years, Korie expressed her love, stating, “We honor you today and are so very happy, happy, happy for your life with the Father that you are experiencing now! What a life.”

Robertson founded Duck Commander in 1972, with “Duck Dynasty” premiering 40 years later, in 2012, and running until 2017.

Now, after eight years, the reality show is returning to television.

“Duck Dynasty: The Revival” will be a two-season reboot made up of 20 one-hour episodes. The show is headed to air this summer.

The new series will follow Korie and her husband Willie Robertson and “their growing family of adult children and grandchildren, the next generation of Robertsons living on the family homestead in Louisiana,” per the network’s press release in January.

Also making appearances on the reboot are Si Robertson and Miss Kay Robertson along with Willie and Korie’s kids, including Sadie, John Luke, Will Jr., Bella and Rebecca.

“Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home,” the couple gushed in a joint statement at the time of the announcement. “We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures.”

“The Robertsons earned a seat in homes across the country with their unique brand of downhome practicality, southern charm and relatable humor,” A&E’s Executive Vice President and Head of Programming Elaine Frontain Bryant added.

Acknowledging the power of the family, Bryant continued, “‘Duck Dynasty’ played a huge part of the success of A&E for many years, and we look forward to reuniting with the Robertsons on the revival.”

When the news broke, Sadie took to social media to share the good news with followers.

“Secret’s out! 🦆 Our family is going back home to A&E with #DuckDynasty: The Revival!” she wrote.

“It’s wild to think how much has changed, but also how much has stayed the same. New kids, new spouses, new businesses, new fun…ALL the generations and no end to the adventures (and yes, probably some misadventures too)! 😂
