In conjunction with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, President Trump just authorized Florida State Highway Patrol to make immigration arrests and to detain illegals for deportation.
DeSantis made the announcement this morning.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced a new partnership between the Florida Highway Patrol and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to enhance immigration enforcement within the state.
The governor made the announcement at a news conference Friday hosted at the state’s Capitol building in Tallahassee.
DeSantis said one of the new agreements’ goals is to help President Donald Trump execute his campaign promises.
The agreement authorizes Florida Highway Patrol officers to perform specific federal immigration enforcement functions.
The agreement also marks Florida as one of the first states to fully integrate state troopers into federal immigration efforts.
“Now is the final opportunity to end the illegal immigration crisis in this country once and for all,” DeSantis said at the news conference.
Under the new agreement, Florida law enforcement officers now will have the ability to …
- Coordinate directly with ICE to expedite deportations
- Interrogate individuals suspected of being in the country illegally
- Detain and process undocumented individuals for deportation
- Enforce felony arrests related to federal immigration laws
- Serve and execute arrest warrants for immigration violations
Although the Florida Highway Patrol will help identify and assist in the enforcement of federal immigration laws, the final decision on deportation or detainment rests with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
This is sure to irritate the Democrats in the state but there’s nothing they can do about this lawful order. If the legislature ever gets their head out of their arses, I’m sure President Trump will extend the authority down to local officials.
