Actor and comedian Rob Schneider announced he is launching a new show to rival ABC’s daytime talk show The View, which will include an all-female panel that will focus on making people laugh rather than shaming others.
Schneider said people are fed up with The View’s divisive politics and saw an opportunity to make an entertaining alternative.
The new show is slated to start filming before President-elect Donald Trump’s Inauguration in Jan. 2025.
“‘No apologies Media,’ my new company, we’re going to do an all-ladies talk show that won’t be like ‘The View.’ It will be the opposite because this will be entertaining. It’ll be funny,” Schneider said Monday on Fox News at Night.
“It’ll have funny women on it that are going to tell jokes and tell stories, and health and wellness,” he continued, explaining that the new show will feature “household names.”
Schneider insisted that the show would be “entertaining” and would include people from all over America. Additionally, it would be free from The View’s divisive politics, which the comedian said “people are sick of.”
“We’re going to have an entertaining show with people — from all over America. We’re not just trying to bring people who are angry and bitter and reinforcing their political echo chamber,” said Schneider.
The actor and comedian has emerged as one of Hollywood’s most vocal proponents of free speech and constitutional principles over the past several years.
Schneider urges Americans to assert their First Amendment rights and express their minds without fear in his latest book, “You Can Do It!,” which is named after his renowned catchphrase in the film Happy Gilmore with actor Adam Sandler.
After his book launch in September, Schneider told Fox News Digital: “Now’s the time to stand up. Now’s the time for courage. I mean, this government and our freedoms require something – eternal vigilance. Or, we’ll lose it.”
